Breaking into her sister’s home in an attempt to save her, MMA fighter Jodie realizes she must free her chained niece from both a brutal captor and family secrets as she fights for their escape.
In the dead silence, a masked intruder breaks into a home, searching room by room until stumbling upon a bloodstained photo of a family. Unveiling more suspicious signs, the intruder is thrown into a horrific dynamic, forced to double down on their decision to break into the house. “The Humming Grows” expertly amps up the suspense, artfully weaving in expositional elements to captivate audiences as they navigate through the whirlwind of plot twists, ensuring they're hooked and effortlessly keeping pace. Writer-director Aughbar debuts an honest and stylized take on the action genre, grounding it in traditional cinema techniques and a dark visual style. Starring world champion martial artist and nationally recognized stunt performer Jewelianna Ramos-Ortiz (Cobra Kai, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, Black Panther) in her first standout lead role, supported by the talents of Cade Shepard (Stranger Things), Isla Grace Sosa (Stranger Things), and Kendra Liz Blanco, the vibrant ensemble cast brings to life a captivating array of secretive characters in this refreshingly original and immensely entertaining cinematic puzzle.
